ABOUT

A writer of
quiet, lasting
stories

I am Larkspur Words — a novelist, essayist and mentor working from a sunlit desk in Brooklyn. For more than ten years I have written about the things people carry quietly: grief and devotion, houses and harbours, the cities that remake us.

My books and essays have appeared in The Halcyon Review, The Meridian and Wildwood Quarterly, and my stories have been taught in workshops from Portland to Providence. I write slowly, revise fiercely and answer every letter.

How I work

Curiosity first,
deadlines kept

Every project begins with listening — to the material, to the people in it, to what is not being said. I research deeply, draft quickly and then revise until each sentence earns its place.

For commissions I work in clear stages with agreed milestones, so you always know where your piece stands. Editors describe the process as calm, candid and on time.
