Half-Light
Twenty-four poems on time and change — dawns, departures and the light that arrives sideways.
About the pamphlet
Half-Light was written in the blue hour — that stretch before sunrise when I walk, notebook in pocket, and let the day arrive unedited. The twenty-four poems follow a single year: thaw, glare, harvest, frost.
Published as a pocket pamphlet by Wildwood Quarterly, it is a book to carry: short lines, plain words, images that stay with you past the final page. Several poems have been set to music by two independent composers.
October teaches the maple
what my mother taught me —
let go brightly,
and all at once,
and without apology.
